Let Respondents Review Answers on a monday.com Form
Published on September 12, 2026
A respondent fills out a long form, hits submit, and gets nothing back but a generic thank-you message. Did the file upload actually attach? Did they pick the right option in that dropdown three sections back? Without a way to see what they entered, they either trust it worked or email you to check.
Whether a form shows respondents their own answers, and when, comes down to a specific setting most people never look for until they need it.
Quick answer
- FormFlow’s response viewing settings let you turn on Show Response Before Submit (a review step before the respondent finalizes) and Show Response After Submit (a confirmation screen with their submitted data) independently, on any plan.
- monday.com WorkForms has no native before-submit review step. Its Response viewing toggle, in the form’s After Submission settings, gives the submitter a link to a read-only view of their answers after they submit.
- Don’t confuse that respondent-facing toggle with the separate WorkForms Submission Viewer app, which is a board-side tool for your team to scroll through incoming responses, not something respondents see.
- Install FormFlow to turn on response viewing on your next form.
Why This Matters
Two different moments call for two different things:
- Before submitting — a respondent wants to check their answers while they can still fix a mistake, especially on a long or multi-page form.
- After submitting — a respondent wants proof of what they sent, without digging through their email for a confirmation that may never arrive.
A form that skips both leaves respondents guessing. One that only offers the after-submit version still lets a wrong entry go through unnoticed, since by the time they see the confirmation, it has already been recorded.
What FormFlow Offers
FormFlow’s Response viewing settings, documented in Form Settings & Configuration, are two independent toggles:
- Show Response Before Submit — the respondent can review their entered data before final submission.
- Show Response After Submit — a confirmation displaying the submitted data appears once the form goes through.
Turn on either one alone, both together, or neither. Neither setting is gated by your monday.com plan tier, the same as the rest of FormFlow’s form settings.
These sit next to, but are separate from, the Thank You Page settings (custom title and description) and External Redirect, which control what happens after submit at a page level rather than whether the respondent’s actual answers are shown back to them.
What WorkForms Offers
WorkForms does not have a documented before-submit review step where a respondent sees a summary of their answers ahead of the final submit click.
What it does have is a Response viewing toggle in the form’s After Submission settings. Turn it on, and the submitter gets a link to click after they submit, which opens a read-only view of the answers they just sent. This is the same toggle that has to be on before Response editing (Enterprise only, capped at 10 edits per submission) becomes available — see Lock a monday.com Form After Approval for how that edit cap works.
It is easy to confuse this respondent-facing link with the WorkForms Submission Viewer, a separate board app your team installs to scroll through incoming responses one at a time with export options. The Submission Viewer is for the people managing the board, not the person who filled out the form. If you are trying to give respondents a way to see their own answers, the Response viewing toggle is the relevant setting, not the Submission Viewer.
Side-by-Side
| Capability | WorkForms | FormFlow |
|---|---|---|
| Review answers before final submit | No documented equivalent | Yes — Show Response Before Submit |
| Confirmation with submitted data after | Yes — Response viewing link | Yes — Show Response After Submit |
| Board-side tool to browse submissions | Yes — Submission Viewer app (staff-facing) | Yes — Analytics tab |
| Plan requirement for respondent viewing | Not documented as plan-gated | None — not gated by monday.com plan tier |
Setting It Up
- Open the form in the FormFlow builder and go to Settings.
- Under Response viewing, turn on Show Response Before Submit if respondents should get a chance to catch mistakes before they finalize.
- Turn on Show Response After Submit if respondents should see a confirmation of what they sent once the form goes through.
- Pair either setting with a custom Thank You Page message so the confirmation matches your workflow’s tone, or an external redirect if you want them to land on your own site instead.
Both toggles work the same way on insert and update forms, so a respondent editing an existing item through an update link can review their changes before or after submitting them, same as on a new submission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does FormFlow’s response viewing require a specific monday.com plan?
No. Response viewing settings are not gated by your monday.com plan tier, the same as FormFlow’s other form settings.
Can WorkForms show respondents a summary of their answers before they submit?
Not natively. Its Response viewing toggle applies after submission, giving the submitter a link to a read-only view of what they sent, not a review step before the final submit click.
Is the WorkForms Submission Viewer the same as respondent-facing response viewing?
No. The Submission Viewer is a board app your team uses to browse incoming responses. Response viewing is the separate setting that controls what the respondent themselves sees.
Do I have to turn on both before-submit and after-submit viewing?
No, they are independent toggles. Turn on whichever matches your workflow, such as before-submit review only for long forms where mistakes are costly, or after-submit confirmation only for short forms where speed matters more.
